Two boaters, who had been stranded since midnight Wednesday, were rescued Thursday morning by Clearwater Fire and Rescue workers.
The women's boat was about a quarter-mile north of the boat ramp at the Courtney Campbell Causeway in about a foot of water.
"The boat is still on location and cannot be reached by towing until the tide comes in," spokeswoman Elizabeth Watts said in a news release.
Marine 49 reached the boat and brought the women back to shore, officials said. They refused medical treatment.
