Boat Passengers Rescued In Tampa Bay

Clearwater Fire and Rescue were called to help two women who had been stranded on a boat in Tampa Bay since midnight Wednesday.

Two boaters, who had been stranded since midnight Wednesday, were rescued Thursday morning by Clearwater Fire and Rescue workers.

The women's boat was about a quarter-mile north of the boat ramp at the Courtney Campbell Causeway in about a foot of water.

"The boat is still on location and cannot be reached by towing until the tide comes in," spokeswoman Elizabeth Watts said in a news release.
