Beach Condo Fire Displaces Family

Two women were displaced after a fire started early Thursday morning at their Clearwater Point condominium.

Two women were displaced after a fire started early Thursday morning at their Clearwater Point condominium.

Flames and smoke were showing in the first floor unit when Clearwater Fire and Rescue were called at 3:09 a.m. to the structure fire at 845 Gulfview Blvd. 

The fire was contained to unit 109, where it began, according to Elizabeth Watts, public safety spokeswoman. No other unit in the three story building were affected.

It took fire crews about 10 minutes to get the fire under control, Watts said.

The cause of the fire still is under investigation.

One of the women suffered from smoke inhalation and was taken to the hospital. Red Cross was contacted to help the displaced women.
