Driver, Passenger Injured in Gulf to Bay Accident

A driver and passenger were seriously injured in an accident that closed Gulf to Bay Boulevard and Hercules Avenue Tuesday morning.

A three-car accident closed Gulf to Bay Boulevard and Hercules Avenue in order for Bayflite to land Tuesday morning.

Lidia M. Garcia, 60, was driving a white 1997 Saturn westbound on Gulf to Bay Boulevard when she turned southbound on Hercules Avenue and into the path of a grey 1999 Chevy Lumina that was headed eastbound on Gulf to Bay, according to Clearwater Police.

The Saturn then hit a Nissan pickup truck that was waiting at a red light to head north on Hercules Avenue.

All westbound traffic lanes are open. A lane of eastbound traffic is open while the two cars are removed.
