Thank You Clearwater Library!

Most people go to the Clearwater Library on North Osceola Ave to take out books, DVD's, or do research with the help of the dedicated and talented staff. The Library provides an extensive variety of services, collections and programs to meet the needs of Clearwater residents and businesses. What most people don't know is that the Library has gone above and beyond the call of duty and helped members of the Florida Center for Creative Photography (FCCP) share the magnificent sunsets,  and full moon risings/settings from the roof of the five story library. Every other Tuesday evening, during winter months, the Library has made the rooftop available to camera buffs, students, and the occasional lucky Library visitors who happen to be near the elevator when the group makes the ascent in the Library's elevator. Everyone from the staff behind the desk, to the Security Officer who is present with the group, sometimes in cold, windy, and nasty weather, maintains a helpful and friendly attitude to everyone involved. Watching the sun go down behind sail boats, the bridge, and downtown Clearwater buildings' is beautiful; watching the sun go down behind the sail boats, the bridge, and downtown Clearwater buildings' from five stories up is majestic and magical. After you do it once, you become hooked.  We are near the end of the winter season;  members of FCCP and it's Director, Jeff Donald, want to thank the members of the Clearwater Library staff for their help in sharing another priceless gift the Library has to offer. Although we welcome Spring and the warmer weather, we will miss the opportunity to not only observe, but record and share, from the sky, daily life in Clearwater.  As an active student and co-organizer with FCCP, I know I share the sentiments of others in our group. If ever we can help you share artistic interpretion/s of Clearwater from above,  we would welcome the chance to do so. I can only imagine how incredible it must be to witness activities like regattas, fireworks, windsurfing and many of the other activities that make Clearwater Beach famous world wide. Thank you all so much for giving the members of the Florida Center for Creative Photography the time and space needed to learn how to photograph and share the magic of Mother Nature, from above, in this incredibly beautiful place that we are lucky enough to call home.
