Official Rules for Legal Corner Contest

This contest awards the winner on the weeks the contest runs a $25.00 donation to a verified and valid non-profit organization under the laws of any state of the United States of America that is also a valid organization pursuant to Federal law. The donation is made in the contestant's name.  This contest is open to all legal residents of the 50 United States, the District of Columbia, and United States Territories, for residents that are 18 years or older unless the State of the contestant requires a later date for valid entry (in which case the valid State law where you reside prevails).  This contest is not valid or open to any State that prohibits this contest.   To enter, you must send an email to jts@simonslawfirm.com, subject line CONTEST ENTRY with the correct answer and you must include your first name and at least the first letter of your last name,  the legal name and address of the charity of your choice and the State that the non-profit organization has its primary operation of business. By submitting your entry, you consent to having your first name, the first letter of your last name, and the name of the charity organization included in a future patch.com article written by an agent of JT Simons, P.A., and also included on a website or social media site (Facebook, etc) owned by JT Simons, P.A., or Jeremy T. Simons or any of JT Simons, PA, agents.  Please verify with the non-profit organization prior to submitting your entry that it consents to its named being used and publicized accordingly.  You agree to hold JT Simons, P.A., harmless and indemnify JT Simons, P.A. for any publication of the non-profit organization's name that they may object to. Only the name of the non-profit organization will be used and no comments regarding its organizational purpose will be used.  
Each individual contest will end on the Friday at 5:00 pm Eastern Standard Time following the first date of publication on any patch.com website wherever located.  You may only submit one entry per email address.  One winner per contest-week will be chosen by random drawing of correct answers within 72 hours of each week's closure of the contest.  JT Simons, P.A., will verify the non-profit organization's state and federal status and then submit the donation in your name within 72 hours of said verification.  If the non-profit organization cannot be verified based on internet-available resources, then JT Simons, P.A., shall then draw another contestant until such time as a donation entity can be named and verified.  It shall be in the sole discretion to determine whether a non-profit organization is verifiable, whether the answer is correct, and whether the entry was submitted correctly.  JT Simons, P.A., does not guarantee that a contest will be held each week.  A contest is active for any given week when the following phrase occurs at the beginning of a weekly article:  CONTEST ON/JTS (official rules here).    This contest is fully sponsored by and the sole responsibility of JT Simons, P.A., and in no way does patch.com, any individual patch.comwebsite, any patch.com agent or editor, or any affiliate/parent company/subsidiary ofpatch.com of any nature (the "patch network) hold any responsibility whatsoever for the fulfillment of the obligations under the contest rules.  By submitting a contest entry, you expressly agree to hold the patch network harmless and release the patch network of any responsibility whatsoever for the any liability related thereto.
