Five Things We Learned This Week

Candidates qualify for office, the sale of Dearborn Towers closed, Hurricane Experience opened and more recap some of the most popular stories this week on Clearwater Patch.

 

1. The latest attraction opened at Winter's Dolphin Tale Adventure, featuring recreated Dolphin Tale movie sets and the Category 1 Hurricane Leroy. Plans are in place to add exhibits every six months.

2. An March 20 died recently. Clearwater Police still are looking for the suspect driver. Police and paramedics from Clearwater Fire and Rescue found Edward Ortwein, 78, laying in the road near the intersection of South and East Drive after he was hit by a car. He died as a result of those injuries June 9 at , according to Clearwater Police.

3. The sale of Dearborn Towers, an 88-unit apartment , dispersing residents and ending an era of community there. In March said residents would have 90 days after the closing date to move out; however, a June 1 note said everyone must be out in 30 days.
