Zen Meditation

Open Zazen

On Mondays the Clear Water Zen Center is open from 7:00 to 8:00 PM for open Zen meditation. The inkin bell will sound every twenty minutes, and everyone is welcome to sit as long as they’d like; 20 minutes, 40 minutes, or the full hour. We are not planning on offering instruction; just another opportunity for experienced members of our sangha to practice together. If you are new and haven’t meditated before, we would encourage you to attend “Beginner’s Night” on Wednesday evening first.

The Clear Water Zen Center is located behind the Unitarian Church at 2476 Nursery Road in Clearwater, between Belcher Road and US 19, and follows the traditions and teachings of Roshi Philip Kapleau (1912-2004), founder of the Rochester Zen Center and whose book The Three Pillars of Zen was instrumental in introducing Zen Buddhism to the West.
