September 29th, 2012 is National Public Lands Day. Weeki Wachee State Park and the Friends of Weeki Wachee Springs State Park, CSO, a non-profit organization, needs volunteers to help clear a nature trail, remove invasive species, create a butterfly garden and other projects. The event takes place between 8am and noon. Particpants working the full 4 hours will be able to enjoy the park facilities for free, AFTER they have completed all assignments.The park will supply water and sunscreen.
Please bring your own lunch, close toed shoes and work gloves. Your help is greatly appreciated.
