Party Of The Year
United Greek Americans’ (UGA)
5th Annual Memorial Day Weekend Beach Party (May 22-26) is just around the
corner and preparation has already begun for the largest party to date for the
organization.
Shephard's Beach Resort in Clearwater Beach, Florida, the
official resort for the event, has been sold out since the beginning of March.
"We are excited to host UGA in our brand new Five-Star Resort!" said
Cody Per, Front Desk Manager for Shephard’s.

With nearly 100 hotel rooms booked with attendees from
around the country, UGA’s Party Weekend set on the white sands of Clearwater
Beach has gained nationwide exposure.
"We are expecting over 500 attendees this year,"
stated Constantino Kastis, founder of UGA. Kastis started the organization in
2010 and has hosted parties and concerts in various parts of the country
including San Francisco, Chicago, and Miami.

UGA’s signature event by far is Memorial Day Weekend as the
weekend is known as the official kickoff to summer. Kastis stated, “Nowadays between school,
work, and personal commitments it is difficult to really get everyone together.
This weekend gives all of us a unique opportunity to party and celebrate life
as a family.”
In addition to the Memorial Day event, UGA has a global
long-term vision including beginning a Hellenic Scholarship Program and hosting
an International Event Weekend.
Even though the event is predominantly Greek, many non-Greeks
join the party.
"We have a word in Greek called “filoxenos," states
Kastis. "Unfortunately this word gets
lost in translation but the closest translation is “A stranger that welcomes
you as a friend into their home.”
We welcome all of our existing and new friends to our home
in Clearwater Beach on Memorial Day Weekend.
"Nobody parties like the Greeks!"
