gs fest

Girl Scouts of West Central Florida’s celebratory 100th anniversary event, gs fest, will take place on Saturday, Oct. 27 at Coachman Park in Clearwater. The
event will showcase what Girl Scouts was all about 100 years ago and how the organization has evolved and continues to be the premier voice and leadership organization for girls today.

gs fest will feature a unique bridging ceremony – exclusively for Girl Scouts – across the Memorial Causeway Bridge, symbolizing Girl Scouts’ transition into its next 100 years as an organization. Throughout the day, there will be fun and engaging activities for children of all ages. The activities will have a special emphasis on core Girl Scout focus areas including: STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math), Healthy Living, Arts & Culture, Financial Literacy and Outdoor Education, each with a “Then and Now” theme to demonstrate Girl Scout’s rich 100-year history.

The event will also feature three family-friendly entertainers: Casey Weston, Savvy and Caroline Kole (formerly Suite Caroline). Casey Weston was one of the top eight finalists on the inaugural season of NBC’s hit show The Voice; Savvy is comprised of the stars of the Starz Kids and Family TV series The Wannabes; Caroline Kole is a Clearwater native who has opened for artists such as Reba McEntire and Blake Shelton.
