Harbormaster Office Gets $30,000 Facelift

The home of the finest fleet on Florida's west coast got a facelift.

The Harbormaster's Office is open at its new location, and with a fresh look.

The nearly $30,000 facelift is part of plans to restore the tugboat inspired façade and bring a Mexican restaurant to the Clearwater Beach Marina, 25 Causeway Blvd.

The Harbormaster's office moved from the second floor to the ground level as part of Clearwater restaurateur Frank Chivas' plan to turn the remaining space into a new restaurant: The Marina Cantina Tequila Bar and Grille.

Chivas’ restaurant will use 9,285 square feet of indoor space and 11,237 square feet of outdoor patio space, and occupy the second and third floor, including remodeling the cupola. The restaurant would take up a portion of the first floor as well.

The plans also call for restoring the marina façade to its 1950s tugboat appearance.

The 1,618-square-foot office is expected to improve accessibility for customers and visitors.

Office hours are from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday.
