GET OUT: Weekend Events Preview March 17-20

With a variety of entertainment venues and restaurants in the area, there's no reason to spend the weekend at home. We've put together a list of fun things to do in the Clearwater area.

It’s Thursday and the weekend’s just around the corner. If you’re still stumped on what to do, we’ve got some great ideas.

  • Where/When: Tilted Kilt Pub & Eatery, 2571 Drew St. Thursday at 4 p.m.
  • Why Go: Its an Irish-themed party in the parking lot tonight at the Tilted Kilt! Stop by on your way home from work or school and enjoy festive beers, traditional Irish foods and live music. 
  • Price: No cover, food and drink prices vary.

  • Where/When: Ruth Eckerd Hall, 1111 N McMullen Booth Rd. Thursday at 8 p.m.
  • Why Go: The incomparable Grammy award-winning vocalist, Natalie Cole, will perform a special one night concert at Clearwater's Ruth Eckerd Hall. Cole will sing a selection of greatest hits including "I've Got Love On My Mind," "Our Love" and  "Still Unforgettable," an engineered duet with her father Nat King Cole. If you love rhythm and blues music, you will not want to miss this performance.
  • Price: $42-$50

Sunset Cinema at Pier 60

  • Where/When: 10 Pier 60 Drive, Clearwater Beach. Saturday at 6:30 p.m.
  • Why Go: Bring the family to Clearwater's Pier 60 for a free film screening this Saturday. Cozy up under a blanket on the beach and enjoy the family-friendly film on the jumbo screen. This week's movie is 2010's "Dinner For Schmucks," starring Steve Carell, Paul Rudd, and Zach Galifianakis.
  • Price: Free!

H'art and Soul Closing Reception

  • Where/When: Studio 1212 Art Gallery, 1405 Cleveland St. Sunday at noon. 
  • Why Go: Join the artists of Studio 1212 for a special reception celebrating the success of the H'art and Soul exhibit. The collection features the work of Mary Hamilton, Theresa Germer and more. Live art demonstrations and light hors d'ouerves will be available for guests.
  • Price: Free!

  • Where/When: Jannus Live, 16 Second St. N., St. Petersburg. Sunday at 3 p.m.
  • Why Go: Tampa Bay's hit rock music station 97X hosts its Freebie Weebie Concert Series this Sunday at St. Petersburg's Jannus Live. Headlining the free outdoor bash will be Charlotte, NC rockers the Paper Tongues, along with performances by AWOLnation and the Marksmen. A block party benefiting St. Petersburg's fallen officers begins at 3 p.m. with a portion of all proceeds going to Suncoast Law Enforcement Charities. The live music show begins at 8 p.m.
  • Price: Free! Ticket will be available Saturday from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. at O'Keefe's, 1219 S Fort Harrison Ave.
