Celebrate the Apocalypse in Clearwater

A Love Apocalypse Tampa Bay meetup group is planning a candlelight vigil surrounding the doomsday predictions to usher positive change at 11:55 p.m. Thursday at Courtney Campbell Beach.

If the world is going to end Friday, why not spend it on the beach.

A local Love Apocalypse candlelight vigil is planned for 11:55 p.m. Thursday at Courtney Campbell Beach.

The group is part of a national awareness campaign to use the day to usher in positive world change.

“People will gather in cities across the globe, to declare the beginning of a new age,” according to the Love Apocalypse Tampa Bay Facebook Page. “An age of peace, connectedness, gratitude, joy, beauty, creativity, courage and kindness. An age of honesty. An age of hope. An age of love.”

To be a part, take a candle, and a note or sign sharing answers to these questions:

  • What will you let go of?
  • What world will you create?

The ending of the Mayan calendar – The Mayans, according to a Sarasota Patch article, kept three separate calendars. The “long calendar” ends on Dec. 21. Some say this constitutes a Doomsday prediction.

Experts say the day is going to be just another typical winter solstice.
