Free College Prep Series for Teens at the Library

Advice from experts on navigating the college entrance experience.

College is an important investment in your future and the Clearwater Public Library has gathered three experts to help students and their families navigate the college entrance experience.

Maria Gerakios will provide tips to make the college application essay less daunting at 2 p.m. Sept. 15 at the Countryside Library, 2741 State Road 580. Maria is currently a Countryside High AP English teacher.

Andrew Weatherill, the Financial Aid Counselor for Pinellas County Schools, will share ways to secure money for your college education during the "Bright Futures and Beyond" at 5:30 p.m.  Oct. 1 at the Main Library, 100 N Osceola Ave.

Then be sure to mark your calendars for our March 3 program at the Countryside Library. We will be bringing back author and SAT tutor Eliot Schrefer to show us how to ace the SAT. Schrefer is the author of "Hack the SAT," and will share secret strategies that can raise your score.

All programs are designed for high school juniors and seniors but younger students and parents are welcome to come and gather information in preparation for the future.
