In Clearwater Oct. 4 is National Night Out
Come meet neighbors and other members of your community Oct. 4 and celebrate National Night Out Clearwater Style!
The Clearwater Neighborhoods Coalition podcast crew, Clearwater Link, got a chance to speak with Mr. Tim Shaver of Target Corporation and Sgt. Juan Torres of the Clearwater Police Department about National Night Out. This free event happens from 5 to 9 p.m. Oct. 4 at the , 2747 Gulf to Bay Blvd.
National Night Out promotes neighborhoods and communities working together to strengthen and build relationships with each other and forge stronger partnerships with police and other law enforcement agencies. This event has been happening in the United States and Canada for 28 years and this is the third year that Target Corporation and the Clearwater Police Department have partnered the Clearwater National Night Out event together.
reported about some National Night Out events that happened on Aug. 2 for other local communities. Clearwater's event will be much bigger. In addition to Target and the Clearwater Police Department other sponsors and contributors include: Lowe's Home Improvement, Costco, ProShred, Coca-Cola Company, Frito Lay, PepsiCo, WingHouse, Jimmy John's Gourmet Sandwiches, Hooters, Phinley the Clearwater Threshers Mascot, Sunstar Paramedics, and much more. There will be police and fire static displays along with SWAT, ERT, and traffic stop demonstrations.

The entertainment will be provided by the Verizon Party Bus, Verizon Wireless Street Team, local on-air personalities, and there will be face painting, games and lots of prizes and other surprises. There is also a good chance that you will get to meet some of your local politicians and shake hands with newcomers hoping to get your vote next year. This is a night for you and your family to enjoy something together in your community.
A lot of people have worked very hard to make this a great event so that you could come meet some of your neighbors. Together through this event you can experience a great night out to build a stronger and better community. It's your neighborhood and your community so come celebrate National Night Out Clearwater style!
