Best New Local Business of 2012?

We want to know which business that opened this year is your favorite.

As 2012 draws to a close, it gives us a chance to reflect on the many changes that took place in Safety Harbor in the last year.

Just in the past six months alone, there were a number of new businesses that opened their doors, including bars, restaurants and gift shops.

We here at Safety Harbor Patch want to know what new business you're most excited about as we head into 2013, and which ones you were sorry to see go.

To help jog your memory, here is a list of new business stories that appeared on the site in 2012 (note: we only launched in August, so our list is limited to that time period):

  • Longtime Residents Become New Business Owners
  • New Gift Shop Opens On Main Street
  • Bongos Building Being Converted Into Dual Businesses
  • It’s Official: Nantucket Bucket is Open For Business!
  • You’Nique Boutique Lives Up To Its Name
  • Beef 'O' Brady's Safety Harbor Grand Opening is Saturday
  • Cycle Shop Opens Following Commission Approval
  • Southern Fresh Restaurant Set To Open Today

I love that the Harbor is becoming more popular for small businesses. I need to check out the new shops, The three that pop out (because I've had a good experience), are Nantucket Bucket, Southern Fresh, and Main Street Market. The one thing they all have in common, (besides selling food) is the owners and staff are wonderful and really seem to take the community's best interests to heart. They treat their customers well and their products are fair.

Great points Laura. It's true, the Harbor is becoming a happening place for small businesses, and it's pretty exciting!

The town has to take extra care to keep small business here.

Nantucket Bucket is awesome, the Chowder was incredible and I had the coconut shrimp and it was excellent. Pat Arend

My top choices of new restaurants at this point are the same as Laura's: Main St. Market, Southern Fresh, and Nantucket Bucket, for the same reasons. See above.
