Fun 'N Sun Festival Kicks Off With Music Series April 20

What started as a way to keep snowbirds in Clearwater just a little longer starts with a three day music series April 20.

The 59th annual Fun 'N Sun festival also features running, disc golfers and a car show.

The music series takes place at Coachman Park. Special seating is available for a fee. Here is a run down of the concerts:

Day Off! Concert presented by Bright House Networks

Features: Matt Nathanson and other performers to be announced.

When: Gates open 5:30 p.m. April 20

Cost: Free general admission. Advanced $20 reserved seating and $50 VIP Hospitality tickets are available at www.ticketmaster.com. Tickets day of are $25 and $60. Prices do not include service charges.

QFest Presented by Q105 and the city of Clearwater

Features: Performances by artists including Rick Springfield, Ambrosia and Whole Lotta Zeppelin

When: 1 p.m. April 21

Features: First time with two stages, on the Main Stage: Ronnie Dunn, Chris Cagle, The Farm, JT Hodges, Andy Gibson and Suite Caroline. The Acoustic Stage will have Brett Eldredge, Canaan Smith and Greg Bates.

Athleta Iron Girl Clearwater

Features: Half and 5K marathon run from Coachman Park through Clearwater Beach and Pier 60.

When: 7 a.m. race start for half marathon and 7:30 a.m. 5K start April 22

Spring Star Spectacular and Classic Car Show

Features: More than 100 classic cars will be shown along Cleveland Street as the Belloise Brothers, The Tempests, The New Tropics and The Impacs perform.

When: 12:30 to 6:30 p.m. April 28 

Fun 'N Sun Disc Golf Tournament

Features: This is a sanctioned Professional Disc Golf Association event, although players do not have to be members. Championship player is scheduled to play. 

When: 8 a.m. April 28 and 10 a.m. April 29
