Resident Fed Up With Budget Inn Issues

A Clearwater Patch readers shares her thoughts about problems in the East Gateway area.

A resident fed up with a hotel plagued with problems at the edge of the city's East Gateway district is fighting back.

Cheryl shared a couple photos and her thoughts on some of the things she notices in her neighborhood, which is near the Budget Inn near Gulf to Bay Boulevard and Court Street, in the Speak Out Boards on Clearwater Patch.

"The owner of the hotel needs to clean up the trash that's blowing down the street," she wrote in a post titled, "Budget Inn On Gulf To Bay/Court St."

The area was the scene of a warrant sweep that got 12 people evicted from the motel in February

The East Gateway area is the scene of a series of prostitution stings in the past including seven prostitution arrests in June 201218 'Johns' arrested in November; and eight other arrests in October.

The area also was more recently part of a synthetic drug sweep that netted four arrests and more than $300,000 of the smoking incense.

"Tell your friends I will start putting out glamour shots of you and your co-workers, unless you cease bothering the people that live peacefully here with your nasty presence and scummy customers," Cheryl wrote in another post. "Take your business elsewhere."
