Parking Lot, Lane Closures as Part of Mandalay Stormwater Project

Parking lot #35 is closed through Oct. 16 and the center lanes of Mandalay Avenue will be closed as part of the $1.35 million project to upgrade the stormwater system along East Shore drive.

A 25-space parking lot is closed for a month and the center lanes of Mandalay Avenue will be closed as part of a project to upgrade the stormwater system along East Shore drive.

Parking lot #35, 457 Mandalay Ave., is expected to open by Oct. 16. Drivers can use lots 34, 36 or 43 until then.

The center lanes of Mandalay Avenue will close for three days to remove the median starting Tuesday. The work is just south of San Marco Street.

No detour will be in place because a lane in each direction will remain open. The center lanes are expected to re-open Friday, Sept. 20.

Construction on the $1.35 million project to upgrade the stormwater system along East Shore drive started April 22. It is expected to be complete by the end of the year.

It impacts some areas south of Baymont Street and north of the roundabout, including Mandalay Avenue around San Marco Street, Poinsettia Avenue and East Shore Drive between Papaya and Baymont Streets and Papaya Street.
