How a Meter Reader Saved a Woman's Life

Find out how this Clearwater city employee saved a woman's life — and earned a day off from work in the process.

CLEARWATER, FL -- The danger of a dog did not scare Ray Hill from hopping a fence to save a woman's life.

Hill, 27, is a meter reader with the City of Clearwater. While on his route a couple months ago, he heard cries from the backyard of a house, where Victoria Graves had fallen into the pool.

Hill ran to the backyard and saw Helen Saul holding onto Graves, who is her sister that suffers from dementia.

Hill was able to help bring Graves to the shallow end of the pool and to safety.

For his efforts, he was honored Monday by city leaders with a wood desk clock and a day off.
