Library Summer Programs to Start

Fill the summer with fun activities at your local library branch.

The Clearwater Public Library System is gearing up for the start of its summer program series for youth and teenagers with kick off parties planned at four of the branch libraries.

Each participating branch features events through August including magic and puppet shows, how to draw cartoons, cultural activities and crafts.

Here is a guide to the program kick off parties:

  • Sign up for the East Library’s “Wacky Wednesdays” series at 1 p.m. Saturday, June 9, at the 2251 Drew St. until 4 p.m. After that, regular programs are at 2 p.m. Wednesdays.
  • Kicks off “Magnificent Mondays” at 2 p.m. Monday, June 11 at the , 100 N Osceola Ave. Children can enjoy games and crafts and register for special activities.
  • The first 100 kids who register get a free book at the "Terrific Tuesdays” program party at 2 p.m. June 12 at the Countryside Library, 2741 State Road 580.
  • Check out Paws for Friendship, a group using specially trained dogs that act as an audience to youth struggling to read aloud, at the "Tremendous Tuesdays” kick off party 2 p.m. June 12 at the North Greenwood Library, 905 N. Martin Luther King, Jr., Ave.
