The afternoon doom and gloom that has plagued Clearwater's weather most of the summer looks like it just might take the weekend off.
That’s the word from the National Weather Service’s Ruskin office as drier and slightly cooler weather is predicted for the Tampa Bay area.
“We’re looking for a good weekend,” said meteorologist Rodney Wynn. “(It should be) a lot drier throughout Florida.”
Wynn said rain chances are still present, of course, but they’ve diminished quite a bit. The strongest chance for storms arrives on Sunday, Sept. 22, and carries forward into the start of the workweek.
There’s also some good news in regard to the heat.
“Temperatures are going to be a little bit cooler mid to upper 80s and the low 70s for the night time,” Wynn said.
