Coast Guard Auxiliary offers boating safety classes

The Clearwater flotilla of the U.S.C.G. Auxiliary offers boating safety classes at the Clearwater Police Headquarters building in downtown Clearwater each month.

Graduates receive a certificate from the U.S.C.G. Auxiliary and a Boater Education ID card from the Florida FWC. The Boater ID card is necessary for anyone born after Jan. 1, 1988 to operate a motorboat with 10HP, or more.

Introduction to Boating
Boating Law
Boat Safety Equipment Requirements
Safe Boating
Navigation Rules
Dealing with Emergencies
Trailering your boat safely
Hunting, Fishing, Waterskiing, Jet Skis

Classes are two days conducted on week-ends. Both Saturday and Sunday mornings from 8:00 AM to 1:00 PM. The class fee is $35.00 for instruction.
