As
executive director for the state support organization, Inman will be
responsible for advocacy and education on state legislative issues concerning
affordable housing. She will also facilitate statewide funding opportunities
and coordinate support, training and education for the 58 Habitat for Humanity
affiliates throughout Florida. Among more than 1,500 Habitat affiliates
throughout the U.S., Florida’s affiliates collectively are ranked first in
total number of affordable homes constructed or rehabilitated and low-income
families served.

Inman
has 20 years of executive experience with Habitat for Humanity affiliates including
one in Orange County, California, and two Florida affiliates in Lee County and
Pinellas County.  During this 20-year period, she has been directly
involved with helping nearly 900 low income families acquire Habitat homes.
Under Inman’s 10-year tenure at Habitat Pinellas, the affiliate has flourished,
increasing annual home production from two in 2003 to the present average of
25-26 homes per year. She coordinated a successful re-branding of the affiliate
and spearheaded a redesign of the Habitat Pinellas homes, requiring them to be
energy efficient, hurricane resistant and built with sustainable materials. In
2004, Inman opened the affiliate’s ReStore, a home improvement store that sells
gently used building materials, furniture and appliances to benefit the
affiliate’s home building program.  Her management achievements are
reflected in the affiliate’s seven consecutive four-star ratings from national
evaluator Charity Navigator. She has also received several awards and
recognitions including Tampa Bay Business Journal’s 2006 “Nonprofit Woman of
the Year,” the St. Petersburg Chamber of Commerce’s 2012 “Iconic Nonprofit
Businesswoman of the Year,” and was named one of BLU Magazine’s 2013 “Top 10
Leading Ladies in Tampa Bay.”

“Since
the day she was appointed ten years ago, Barbara has worked passionately to
transform Habitat Pinellas into one of the nation’s higher functioning Habitat
for Humanity affiliates,” said Vicki Tylman, board chair for Habitat for
Humanity of Pinellas County.  “She has been remarkable at developing
partnerships with individuals, government leaders, banks, businesses,
foundations and the religious community. She has built not just a team and a
recipe for success, but also a culture for this affiliate that will be a
lasting legacy for many years to come. We are saddened to lose such an
outstanding CEO, but we are also thrilled and quite proud that Barbara has the
opportunity to extend her leadership skills to benefit all Habitat affiliates
statewide. We have the utmost confidence that our interim CEO, Ron Spoor, will
continue to provide strong leadership and be a stabilizing force as we conduct
our replacement search.”

Spoor
also has 20 years of experience producing affordable housing in Florida,
Maryland, Washington, D.C. and Pennsylvania, including 13 years working with
Habitat for Humanity affiliates in Chester County, Pennsylvania, and Pinellas
County, Florida.  He joined Habitat Pinellas in 2007 as land development
manager and was promoted to chief operations officer in 2010. As COO, Spoor has
guided construction of the affiliate’s increased home production and has been
responsible for land acquisition. In 2010-2011, he oversaw the development of
two Habitat subdivisions, Stevens Creek, a 51-unit single family home community
in Clearwater, and Shady Grove, a 19-unit townhome community in Dunedin. Both
communities are on track for completion in the next two years.
