Yellow Light Timing Slow to Change

The Tampa Tribune is reporting that some Bay area cities have been slow to act on a Florida Department of Transportation request to have yellow light times increased in consideration of the number of red-light camera tickets issued that related to motorists caught on red by just a fraction of a second. Some suppose cities are dragging on the request to keep money flowing into their coffers. What do you think?

Celebrate National Coffee Day

The weekend is almost here and National Coffee Day is just around the corner. This Sunday, Sept. 29, is the day set aside to celebrate the perfect brew and Dunkin’ Donuts is getting in on the act. The chain is offering a free small coffee to those who use its mobile app. Check out the eatery’s website for more details.

Stamp Prices Rising Again?

The U.S. Postal Service says it needs more per stamp to keep itself afloat financially. It’s asking for approval to up the price of stamps by 3 cents. Before the cost can go to 49 cents a stamp, however, a regulatory green light must be given, according to USA Today. What do you think the post office needs to do to bail itself out of financial crisis?

Will You be ‘Satisfried?’

Burger King is hoping that’s going to be the case when consumers check out the chain’s newly launched “satisfries.” The crinkle-cut fries have fewer calories than the restaurant’s normal version and are hoped to appeal to the more health-conscious, according to Business Week. Have you checked them out? Are you “satisfried” or not?

Is that Sunshine?

After days of downpours, it looks like we’re in for a stretch of sunshine. The National Weather Service says rain chances still exist today, Sept. 27, but they’re scant.
