Red Light Camera Tickets Come to Code Board

The city’s Municipal Code Enforcement Board is expected to hear its first red light camera ticket appeals and their decision could cost the driver an additional $250.

A state law amends the red light camera ticket appeals process to include a local hearing officer, which would be the board, who will hear nine appeals at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 25, at City Hall, 112 S Osceola Ave. View the agenda here.

Free Cinnamon Buns

IKEA Tampa is combining National Coffee Day and National Cinnamon Bun Day together to create something sweeter. Rather than mark the days individually, the store plans a big celebration that lasts for several days. Just stop by between Sept. 29 and Oct. 4 and buy a coffee and you’ll get a free cinnamon bun. Museum Hop for Free

Here’s one for your calendars. Saturday, Sept. 28 is Arts Alive/Free Museum Day in St. Petersburg. Between 10 a.m. and 3 p.m. you can visit some of the city’s most notable museums, including the Dali and Holocaust museums, at no charge. Check out the event’s website for more details.

Barack Obama might be the president of one of the world’s most powerful countries, but that doesn’t mean he doesn’t have his fears. One of this biggest: Michelle Obama. During a recent gathering, Barack was caught on camera joking with a U.N. official that he hadn’t smoked in years because, “I’m scared of my wife,” according to the Huffington Post.
