MTV has already filmed part of their new show, Dream Date Challenge, on the beaches including in Clearwater.
MTV is working on a new show on the beaches, including in Clearwater. MTV's Dream Date Challenge is filming in the Pinellas beach areas and already has put in 25 days of shooting, according to an article from cvbeat.com. The show features couples performing date activities at popular attractions, like kayaking and walking on the beach, while vying for the date of their dreams. Filming has taken place in Clearwater Beach, St. Pete Beach, Indian Rocks Beach and Redington Shores so far. The crew began filming in April and has spent more than $500,000 in lodging and other expenses. The show's website says that it is casting for single men and women in Florida looking to find "the chance to live out your fantasy with the perfect partner."

Three days of music kicks off the 59th annual Fun 'N Sun Festival at Coachman Park April 20 which also features a running competition, disc golf tournament and a classic car show.

Eddie Vedder, one of the faces of grunge rock who was the lead singer of one of the genre's top bands, Pearl Jam, has postponed his scheduled concerts at Ruth Eckerd Hall next month until December. Vedder was to have played in Clearwater May 10-11. But the Hollywood Reporter writes that Vedder recently had a back injury which resulted in temporary nerve damage to his right arm.
