Tropical System Could Impact Your Weekend Plans

The National Weather Service in Tampa Bay is keeping a close watch on a tropical wave.

Heads up Clearwater residents, we could be impacted by a tropical system this weekend. The National Weather Service says there is a vigorous tropical wave that is east of the Leeward Islands.

As of 2:50 p.m. Monday, the National Hurricane Center Tropical Outlook says there is an 80% chance of this system intensifying into a named storm within the next 48 hours.

Palm Harbor Patch spoke with Daniel Noah, the Warning Coordination Meteorologist at the National Weather Service in Tampa Bay.
