Students Get Pass to Play for Good Grades
The students get a family play pass good to get into any city recreation center for a year.
Doing well in school will help keep 13 students, and their family, cool this summer.
Students recognized in the Good ACT awards Friday get a family play pass good for recration centers in the city.
The students will be recognized at a ceremony at noon at the Ross Norton Recreation Center, 1426 S Martin Luther King Jr. Ave.
ACT stands for aquatic center time.
Students get a family play pass where they can enjoy the city pools and slides, including at Ross Norton, North Greenwood and Beach locations.
The membership is valid at all other Clearwater recreation centers too.
Students in kindergarten through eighth grade were nominated by teachers, mentors and police officers. They were chosen for performing random acts of kindness, good grades or being good role models.
Hundreds of these scholarships have been awarded since the program started in 2003 at the North Greenwood Recreation and Aquatic Center.
