Two More Homes Added to the Stevens Creek Subdivision After Blitz Build

More than 500 volunteers helped build two Habitat for Humanity of Pinellas homes in a week at the Stevens Creek subdivision.

Rashidat Okuboye and Kimberley Moore are the latest Habitat for Humanity of Pinellas homeowners.

It took about a week, but with the help of more than 500 volunteers two homes were built in the Stevens Creek subdivision as part of the the non-profit's Blitz Build event.

Okuboye is a cancer survivor with a four year old daughter. As part of the ownership process, homeowners also help with the construction.

"It feels good to be building my own home," Okuboye said in a release. "My house will be full of joy, love and great fulfillment."

Moore is moving, with her two daughters, from a cramped 350 square foot apartment to her new home.

The 51 unit Stevens Creek subdivision is being built at the former Homer Villas public housing site near Betty Lane and Sunset Point Road.

One model home features a special solar powered water heater and two other homes were built during a special "Blitz Build" week last year.
