Questions, Demonstrations and Shredding At National Night Out
Chat with police, see public safety demonstrations, get documents shredded and get free stuff from Patch at the National Night Out Against Crime from 5-9 p.m. Oct. 2 in the Clearwater Mall parking lot at Super Target.
Chat with a Clearwater Police officer, find out first-hand the dangers of a traffic stop, shred documents and get free stuff from Patch during Clearwater Police's 29th Annual National Night Out Against Crime on Oct. 2.
"National Night Out is designed to heighten crime prevention awareness, generate support for anticrime initiatives, strengthen the relationship between the community and police and let criminals know that crime won’t be tolerated," according to a release from Clearwater Police.
Clearwater Police will talk safety and crime prevention as well as answer questions at the Clearwater Mall parking lot at Super Target, 2747 Gulf to Bay Blvd.
Citizens will get to see first hand some of the challenges and dangers during a “walk in a police officer’s shoes” interactive traffic stop demonstration.
The event also includes other demonstrations and displays, free document shredding, child safety seats checks and bicycle safety inspections.
In addition to SWAT, the Emergency Response Team (ERT) and the Mounted Patrol will also be there.
Plus, Clearwater Patch will be on hand to give out some free Patch goodies and talk with residents about Patch's role in the community.
In addition to following the police on Twitter, liking them on Facebook and bookmarking their website, signing up for the Clearwater Patch newsletter is another way to stay connected to the community.
