A neighbor asked Anthony Floyd, 38, to help evict Michael Gattus, 29, and Liza Mastronardi, 32, from a house near the 500 block of McLennan Street, according to Clearwater Police.

During the process, Floyd and Gattus "traded blows with Floyd getting the better of Gattus," according to police. They both stopped fighting.

But it wasn't over.

Mastronardi grabbed a knife from her backpack and gave it to Gattus. That is when Gattus started another fight with Floyd and stabbed him in the chest, according to investigators.

Police were called to the scene around 9:10 p.m. where they found Floyd with the stab wound. He was airlifted to the hospital where he later died, according to police.

A witness gave police the tag number and description of the vehicle that left the scene. Gattus was pulled over a short time later by police near the on South Missouri Avenue.

Gattus was arrested and charged with first degree murder. Mastronardi was arrested and charged with accessory to first degree murder.
