Scott Elarton takes the mound against the first place Tigers in a nationally televised Grapefruit league game Monday at Bright House Field.

Elarton, in his first start of Spring Training, looks to improve from his last appearance where he gave up three earned runs in two innings against the Tampa Bay Rays.

In an attempt to prepare for Opening Day, starter Roy Halladay who was in the rotation to start, will get an additional day of rest before taking the mound Tuesday, according to mlb.com.

Joel Piniero, David Purcey, Brian Sanches, Phillipe Aumont and Raul Valdes are also scheduled to pitch.

Max Scherzer gets the start for the Tigers. Octavio Dotel, Colin Balester, Luis Marte and Jose Valverde are also expected to appear.
