Red light violators are issued a notice of violation which is a civil infraction. If an initial notice of violation is not paid, it becomes a uniformed traffic citation and failing to satisfy that uniformed traffic citation would result in a suspension of the violator's drivers license for failure to pay a traffic fine. Driving with a suspended license in some circumstances could potentially result in arrest.
