Clearwater Police are investigating an apparent early morning shooting at the Ramada Inn on Gulf to Bay Boulevard.
The incident happened around 3:45 a.m. Tuesday, when units were dispatched to a call about multiple gunshots at the hotel at 2106 Gulf to Bay Blvd., public safety spokesperson Elizabeth Watts said in a media release.
Upon their arrival, officers found several shell casings and spent bullet slugs throughout the parking lot. "Blood was located at the scene, indicating someone was likely injured in the gunfire," Watts said. "All parties involved had fled the area."
During the investigation, police learned of an uncooperative gunshot victim at Mease Dunedin Hospital with life-threatening injuries who may be involved. "Detectives have not confirmed if the victim is related to this case but are looking into a possible connection," Watts said.
