Pirate Punks The Scurvy Invade Beer Goggles
The Scurvy might be "banned in the Bay" but are welcome to host an open mic night at Beer Goggles.
The Scurvy, possibly Tampa Bay's most notorious punk group, host an open mic night each Monday afternoon at Beer Goggles.
Although "banned in the Bay" because of past episodes of chaos they decline to talk about, they feel right at home here.
As the happy hour crowd downs their $1 beers, the band belted out an energetic mix of original and cover songs to the unsuspecting audience. They played everything from Operation Ivy to Johnny Cash within the small confines of Beer Goggles on the corner of Ulmerton and Belcher Roads.
Many of the locals might not have been prepared for the sonic assault when they came in, but by the end of their set they were nodding their heads and requesting songs.
Beer Goggles offers many beers and wine along with pizza.
The Scurvy open for the Murder Junkies later this month.
