Photo Gallery: Thousands Get the Blues at Coachman Park

The free, two-day Sea-Blues Festival featured performances by blues legend Buddy Guy and many others.

A mostly cloudy day can be a great backdrop for the blues.

And while the sun eventually came out, so did thousands of fans to see Curtis Salgado, Buddy Guy and slew of other performers who took the stage at Coachman park as part of the free-two day Sea-Blues Festival.

The event also featured seafood including grouper sandwiches, crab cakes, lobster and clams. But it was the music the fans came for.

Beverly McClellan, Ronnie Baker Brooks and Janiva Mangess headlined the Sunday show, which did have a smaller showing than Saturday night.

Unlike Guy, who hopped off stage and played in the crowd during his set, McClellan had security round up some fans who got to sit around as she performed some of her own tunes and covers of Janis Joplin, Eric Clapton and Johnny Cash songs.

Brooks, son of Blues Hall of Famer Lonnie Brooks, got the crowd rocking with his mix of tunes, and his best John Lee Hooker impersonation too.

Brooks, who got to jam with Guy the night before, took a page from his book when he hopped off stage to play in the crowd. Brooks stood on two plastic chairs while ripping chords, at one point with his teeth.

After Brooks got on stage the band ended, only to come back on for a 10 minute encore.

"Can we boogie a little longer," Brooks said to cheers.
