Original Hooters Torn Down for Remodeling

The longtime Clearwater landmark is undergoing some major cosmetic changes.

The Original Hooters on Gulf to Bay Boulevard, which has been serving its unique wings to Clearwater residents and visitors since 1983, is currently in the process of being torn down as part of a .

The demolition of part of the building will add more than 2,100 square feet to the old structure and allow for a bigger bar and dining area.

While the rebuilt promises to be more modern while keeping with the restaurant's traditional themes and color schemes, it's still sad to see the classic old place ripped apart and completely vacant after all these years.
