Hulk Hogan to Open Retail Shop on Clearwater Beach

The Pelican Walk Plaza store will sell memorabilia and feature appearances and autograph signings by the world-renowned wrestler.

Get ready, because Hulkamania is about to hit Clearwater Beach, brother!

Longtime Clearwater resident Terry Bollea, aka Hulk Hogan, is set to open a retail shop on Mandalay Avenue, just a leg drop away from his new North Beach home.

The shop, located on the upper level of the Pelican Walk Plaza near the Jolley Trolley offices, will sell new Hulk items as well as display some of his personal memorabilia; it should be open for business in approximately 10 days, according to property manager Mike Buonos.

"Terry lives here, he loves it here, and he wants to have a presence here," Buonos said from the site of the soon-to-be-completed shop. "It makes sense for him to do something like this here."

Hogan, who recently moved into a new $3.3 million dollar beach house on Eldorado Avenue, will make appearances at the shop, as will other wrestlers, and have autograph signing sessions for fans, according to Buonos.

Buonos says Hogan's daughter, reality TV star/singer Brooke Hogan, as well as his new wife, Jennifer McDaniel, will also be a part of the business, although he wasn't sure in what capacity.

But the man behind sprucing up the burgeoning North Beach plaza believes the wrestler's shop alone will help increase traffic at the location.

"It's going to increase tourist traffic, because he himself is a tourist attraction," Buonos says. "People love Hulk Hogan."

I have heard nothing but nice things about Mr. Bollea. I will visit his new store, and hopes he stays in the area.

I think with his new house and now a new business in the area, Hulk plans on sticking around for a while. But I'm with you, Michael - we need a nationally known figure like the Hulkster to keep calling Clearwater home!

I wonder if that fanny pack he always wore in "Hogan Knows Best" will be part of the personal memorabilia display :)

Don't forget...the city of Belair treated Hogan dirty because he is "new" money. I hope Clearwater appreiates him. He's a nice guy.

Great! One thing, will we catch the Hulkster out on the street holding and twirling one of those signs? Seriously, that man could bank his "new" money but he chose to invest it in his town. .. ... decent, very decent. B.O.L. Terry.

Hope the new store does well. Went in a couple weeks ago. Enjoyed watching the old videos. Store still needs something, though. Just did not get the buying vibe. Pretty sure he wants this to show a profit and not just another promo.

Went to Beach Bar Tampa for new years eve. GM really dropped the ball on the grand opening. Had bars staffed with normal lunch hour staffing. Nobody was really enjoying themselves as most everybody there was standing in the five deep crowd, at the bar. When one customer told me that he had been waiting for 30min, I got back in the boat and left. Revenues could have easily doubled, if customers were able to be served. Staff was overwhelmed and hating it. Fire the GM, Terry. He cost ya a TON of money, on new years. Any goof should know, you would be slammed on New Years.. The bad is that it cost me 100bux in fuel to get there. The good is, that is all the money I spent, as I couldn't spend money at the beach bar. (no service)
