Fletcher's Harley-Davidson to Close This Month

The Harley dealer, in business for 48 years, is set to close by the end of August, the Tampa Bay Times reports. The family is also closing its Clearwater Beach boutique.

"Less than two months after Fletcher's death, his family-owned shop has lost its franchise," the Times writes. "By the end of the month, Fletcher's will close for good."

Laura Fletcher-Taylor, who has run the shop with her two sisters since their father retired in 1986, told the newspaper that the recession and tensions over the franchise's corporate model and budget uncertainties led to the shop's closing.

The owners are also closing , the Times reports, and will seek to sell their main store at 17129 U.S. 19.
