Eddie Vedder Postpones Concerts Until December

Grunge rock star Eddie Vedder, who once fronted Pearl Jam, was to have played at Ruth Eckerd Hall next month. However, those dates have been postponed until December.

Eddie Vedder, one of the faces of grunge rock who was the lead singer of one of the genre's top bands, Pearl Jam, has postponed his scheduled concerts at Ruth Eckerd Hall next month until December.

Vedder was to have played in Clearwater May 10-11. But the Hollywood Reporter writes that Vedder recently had a back injury which resulted in temporary nerve damage to his right arm.

The Clearwater dates were just two of a scheduled 23-date solo tour to support his 2011 album Ukulele Songs.

"After having worked aggressively with doctors and physical therapists for the last eight weeks to repair the damage, the intensity of the injury and time needed to heal has made it impossible to play the shows as scheduled,” Pearl Jam manager Kelly Curtis told the Hollywood Reporter. “There was hope up until the last minute that the treatments would be successful.”

The Clearwater dates now rescheduled for Dec. 3-4 are the final two dates slated for Vedder's tour.
