Druid Trail Connection to Pinellas Trail Coming

The third phase of the Druid Trail project lengthens the route more than a mile with connections to the Pinellas Trail and Glen Oaks Park.

Clearwater bikers, runners and rollerbladers soon will have another route to the beach, parks and Pinellas Trail.

Crews start work soon to lengthen Druid Trail more than a mile, with connections to Pinellas Trail and Glen Oaks Park. The work is expected to take 180 days. 

The first two parts of the trail are in place. So far, the route runs from Clearwater Beach to East Avenue downtown.

The third phase of the project starts at Turner Street and East Avenue and ends at Glen Oaks Park, with a connection at the Pinellas Trail.

Crews will build a 1,620-foot-long, eight-foot-wide asphalt trail along the north side of Turner Street from the Pinellas Trail to Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Avenue.

Another 830-foot, eight-foot-wide section will be on the east side of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Avenue.

Construction of a 4,320-foot-long, eight-foot-wide piece of the trail will be on the north side of Druid Road from the Pinellas Trail to Betty Lane.

The project also includes intersection improvements at Druid Road and Missouri Avenue, including adding pedestrian islands, signs, striping and pedestrian signals.
