Clearwater Police Seek Help in Finding Armed Robbery Suspect

A Circle K store was robbed early this morning and Clearwater police need help in nabbing the suspect.

A Circle K convenience store located at 1701 Gulf to Bay Blvd. was robbed by a knife-wielding man early this morning and Clearwater police are asking the public to help identify the alleged thief.

Clearwater police say the suspect entered the store at 1:33 a.m. and went directly to the cooler to buy a can of Coke. When the clerk began to ring up the sale, the suspect brandished a knife, demanding cash from the register. Then, the suspect jumped over the counter and grabbed the cash himself before fleeing.

The suspect is believed to be a white male with red hair and was wearing a tan hat, a light blue shirt, camouflage shorts and was carrying a camouflage backpack.

Clearwater police encourage anyone with information about the incident or the suspect to call the Clearwater police tip line at (727) 562-4422 or leave an anonymous tip through the police department's website or Facebook page.
