Clearwater Beach Roundabout Resurfacing This Week

The main Clearwater Beach intersection is set to be resurfaced this week.

One of the most controversial intersections in Clearwater is set to see more road work this week.

The Clearwater Beach roundabout, which made international headlines when it opened 12 years ago, will be resurfaced nightly through Friday. 

The lanes will be closed as crews mill and resurface the road.

“This is routine maintenance to the roundabout’s pavement that will extend the life of the roadway," said Tara Kivett, the city’s construction manager. 

The roundabout will be open to traffic as the work is being done however, drivers who want to completely bypass the work can use the Belleair Causeway Bridge to get from the island to the main land.
