The best woman pool players in the country will be in Clearwater Saturday.
There are 32 women entered in the U.S. Amateur Championship at the Crooked Cue Saturday.
Palm Harbor's Stroker's Sports Bar & Grill is host to the men's competition all weekend - the fourth year for the pool hall, according to manager Suzy Hayne.
There are 128 players scheduled to compete in the men's division of the tournament, and 32 players in the women's division. The event is organized by the American Poolplayers' Association.
- Stroker's Sports Bar & Grill, 30901 US 19 Highway N hosts the men's division from Nov. 9 to 11.
- The Crooked Cue, 14100 US Highway 19 N hosts the opening day of women's competition on Saturday, Nov. 10.
- Men and women's division finalists will play in the final rounds at Stroker's Sports Bar & Grill on Sunday, Nov. 11.
The event is free. The championship begins at 9 a.m. and continues through the evening.
"Get here early, we open at 8:30 a.m. They play pretty late," Hayne said.
