Well I am 68 and I see a guy 76 on the list, it makes me wander if I would have a chance at my age. I would need to take my little blue pill before anything could take place and I guess the cops would get me before the pill would kick in, I guess I better find me a girl friend so I would have more time for my pill to work.

The 76 year old guy must have taken two blue pills, reason being I am sure the decory must have been a young chick.

These are the people paying for it off the street, not the ones in a bar, club, etc. How do these guys get caught anyway? Have you seen the nastiness that is walking the street and selling their "wears". I would assume that an undercover cop looks healthy. These guys should just be jailed for ignorance. I don't know what good this does, maybe we should be reguling trade instead of inforcing an unforcible law.

Michael D. makes a dangerous assumption, that these people are guilty of what police accused them of. Sure, some may have been looking, but how do we know they all were? How do we know they weren't approached and said the wrong thing? It's happened before, and it's probably happened here. Innocent until proven guilty, folks. Remember, that's our system. "Probable cause" doesn't mean guilt.

I didn't assume they were guilty, I was questioning the law in itself. I have a friend who was asking for directions of a "undercover" officer in one of these situations. We were lost after first moving down here, and they arrested him for solicitation. I walked to the officers and said he was just asking for directions. But it was an arrest to them. Over $2000 in legal fees later, charges were dropped.
What I'm stating is that why are we trying to inforce a law that happens everywhere and is between two consenting adults. The difference in this and when it happens in the corporate office, club, bar, is that it is on the street.
Second you said that I make the assume they are guity. All I said was caught. That doesn't mean they were guilty. Next time instead of getting upset, read.

Also, the story says charges have been filed against these people? That's incorrect. Charges aren't filed by police. They're issued after the state attorney's office decides to file charges, if the state attorney's office believes there are grounds to prosecute. These people have merely been arrested and police say they have probable cause. Don't jump to conclusions. That's shoddy journalism.

Michael, I did read. Here are YOUR words: "These are the people paying for it off the street, not the ones in a bar, club, etc. How do these guys get caught anyway?" You assume these people were paying for it on the street. Then you say they should be arrested for ignorance. Yeah, it's not difficult to read into what you wrote that you assume guilt.
As for the other comments, how do you know these people were "johns"? All you have is an allegation from a police officer. The cops aren't there to hear both sides. They see what they think they see, and it's up to the state attorney's office to make a determination whether there's evidence to proceed with charges. Someone could have been minding their own business when an undercover cop came up to them, or could have been looking for something else, such as Michael said. It's too easy to be the judge, jury and executioner on the Internet, especially when you don't understand the system. (Blame public school education?)

Old Saying. If a prostitute is hot, she is a police officer LOL I see a lot of them on Gulf To Bay, Most look like, and probably are crack heads or heroin addicts. It's sad. I personally think they should legalize it, regulate it, and make sure the girls are disease free. I still would not visit one, but I am sure it would work out better for them and their customers.
