St. Petersburg Theological Seminary has a New Name, Location and Two New Board Members!
St. Petersburg Theological Seminary (SPTS), established in 1983 and the Netzer David International Yeshiva founded in 1998 are now doing business as St. Petersburg Seminary and Yeshiva (SPS&Y). In January, the Seminary sold its property at 10830 Navajo Drive, St. Petersburg, Florida and is leasing space from Ohr Chadash Messianic Jewish Synagogue, at 3190 Gulf to Bay Blvd. Clearwater.
The Seminary continues its 29 year vision of “Educating Servant Leaders for Ministry” from a trans-denominational
stance, through a curriculum rich in culture and traditions of the Older Testament and its fulfillment in the Newer Testament. The Seminary offers training for ministry to
persons of any denomination that honors Jesus Christ, Yeshua, as Messiah and Lord.
In October, the Seminary welcomed two new board members: Mr. Marvin Coleman and Dr. Vicky Jones, who bring a wealth of knowledge and expertise to compliment the St. Petersburg Seminary and Yeshiva’s Board of Directors.
Mr. Coleman is the Vice President of Community and Business Relations and National Training Initiatives for Operation PAR, Inc. of St. Petersburg. He is a Nationally Certified Trainer in Motivational Enhancement, and Operation PAR, Inc.’s primary contact for all Media and Governmental Relations for Pinellas County.
Dr. Jones a writer, lecturer, public relations facilitator, as well as consultant to homeschool families and educational firms received a Master’s Degree from SPTS and a PhD from California Graduate School of Theology. Dr. Jones has served the Seminary as Vice President of Advancement, and was most recently a School Administrator for a local Christian School.
The Seminary provides undergraduate and graduate programs locally, and internationally utilizing distance learning technology, while maintaining personalized professor-studentinteraction. To accommodate learners established in current ministries and careers, classes at SPS&Y are offered on a year-round calendar. Non-degree-seeking students may audit classes in the classroom or by distance.
